Terms and conditions of carriage of baggage

1. Organisation

The services offered through this document are organised by VIANDOTREKS, S.L., an entity known commercially as VIANDO, CIF 53190510C, with registered office at Rúa do Rego, 6C, 5ºD 15895 Milladoiro - Ames, A Coruña. This company is legally constituted as a wholesale-retail Travel Agency with licence number XG-CO-000794.

2. General conditions for the transport of luggage on the Way of St. James

EQPX is a service through which VIANDO organizes the transport of backpacks or suitcases between accommodations on the Camino de Santiago so that you can do the Camino without carrying your luggage. The service is available on different routes of the Camino de Santiago. The prices of the service will be established according to the chosen route and dates, as well as according to these conditions and the rates published by VIANDO for each of the stages on the different routes. The dates and places available for the service can be consulted on the website

You may consult with VIANDO about the feasibility of running the service on other routes or out of season, without it being VIANDO's obligation to provide the service.

This document shall be valid for 10 calendar days from the date of dispatch.


You must request the VIANDO EQPX service through the form on the website or by sending an e-mail to the address, at least 24 hours before the start date of the service, understood as starting at 8:00 a.m. on the first day of the service. You must indicate the date of each transfer, the accommodation and the pick-up and drop-off locations for each of the stages.

The EQPX service cannot be contracted for use in accommodation in the network of public hostels, as these do not allow the collection and delivery of luggage. Nor can it be contracted if the accommodation does not have a reception or a pick-up and drop-off point accessible during the hours the service is provided. VIANDO reserves the right to assess the feasibility of the service in the establishments you indicate.

Baggage whose contents may be considered as prohibited or dangerous, as specified in the section "Dangerous and prohibited goods", may not be carried. Also excluded are perishable items that may lose their value during the course of the service, fragile items or items that may be damaged during normal handling and carriage.

It is also your responsibility, as the customer, to confirm that the luggage covered by this contract:

  • is duly identified with the labels provided by VIANDO;
    has a luggage format (rucksack, suitcase or similar), other types of packaging such as instrument cases, boxes, etc. are excluded.
  • is properly packed in such a way as to ensure its safe carriage by road with ordinary care and handling. In this regard, no hanging or tied items will be accepted outside the baggage, and all items must be properly packed inside the baggage.
  • is in accordance with all the obligations and formalities set out in Law 43/2010 of 30 December 2010 on the universal postal service, users' rights and the postal market, international postal conventions and other applicable legislation.

When VIANDO confirms the service, a booking identification code will be issued, which will be associated with the service throughout the journey. In addition to this contract, which will indicate each of the transfers covered by the contract, their dates and pick-up and drop-off points, VIANDO will issue an invoice to be paid before the start of the service, in accordance with the "Payments" section of this contract.

During the provision of the service, VIANDO will collect and deliver the luggage to the accommodation indicated by you, at the points of admission provided by each of them, unless the establishment itself refuses to do so. It is your responsibility, as the customer, to confirm that the accommodation accepts the collection and delivery of luggage, without VIANDO being obliged to provide alternatives. In the event that the accommodation refuses to accept the collection or deposit of luggage, VIANDO will contact you by telephone to determine where the delivery and subsequent collection, if any, will take place. Under no circumstances may an alternative delivery lead to a delay in the service, which must continue as normal.

Luggage collection will take place from 8:00 a.m. onwards, without your presence at that time being necessary, nor is it necessary to issue a receipt for it. Therefore, you undertake to deposit your luggage at the reception of the accommodation or in the spaces provided by the accommodation before 8:00 a.m. on the day of the service. Likewise, the luggage will be delivered at the destination before 15:30 on the same day.

Once the luggage has been delivered to its destination, VIANDO shall not be held liable for any loss or theft. Nor will VIANDO accept any liability if this occurs from the time you deposit your luggage at the establishment indicated until the time it is collected for transport.


The following limitations are established for the packages to be transported during this service. In terms of dimensions, these may not exceed 220 cm per package, adding the length, width and height of the same. In addition, a maximum weight of 15 kg per package to be transported is defined. VIANDO reserves the right to re-weigh each package to confirm that its weight does not exceed this limit, in which case the corresponding surcharges indicated in the "Payments and surcharges" section of this document will be applied.

If this situation occurs, you will be notified of the incident by email or telephone so that you can accept the modification of the booking again. If no reply is received within 12 hours, the modification will be deemed to have been approved and the service will continue at the new rate. In the event that you notify VIANDO that you do not accept the modification, VIANDO will not continue to provide the service referred to in this contract. The termination of this contract for these reasons does not imply any refund of the amounts you have already paid.


By accepting this contract, you undertake not to send prohibited objects or dangerous goods through this service, these being those identified as such by Law 43/2010, of 30 December, on the universal postal service, users' rights and the postal market. In the event that you do not report the presence of this type of dangerous or prohibited content at the time of contracting the service and its presence is subsequently verified, you shall indemnify VIANDO for any damages and losses that may be caused, as well as the amount of the penalties and any other costs that VIANDO may have to pay for this reason.

3. Payments and surcharges

Payment for the service shall be made within 7 days of the issue of this contract, except in the case of contracts with a shorter period of time. In any case, the service must always be paid at least 1 day before the start of the service. Failure to make payment within the deadlines indicated will result in the automatic cancellation of the contract, unless VIANDO notifies VIANDO to the contrary, without VIANDO being bound to provide the service under any circumstances.

The accepted means of payment are: bank transfer, Bizum or credit or debit card. However, if the service is contracted less than 72 hours in advance, the bank transfer must be made immediately, so that VIANDO receives the amount before the start of the service.

The prices have been calculated on the basis of currency exchange rates, the transport price derived from the cost of fuel or other energy sources and the level of taxes and charges on the services included in the contract. Any variation, either upwards or downwards, in the price of the aforementioned elements may lead to a revision of the final price of the service.

You will be notified of these changes and, in the event of a significant change, you may withdraw from the service without penalty. Under no circumstances will prices be revised upwards in the five days immediately prior to the start date of the service.

The price of the service does not include insurance, extras and, in general, any service not specified as "included". All invoices issued by the organiser will include VAT, governed by the Special Regime for Travel Agencies, unless otherwise indicated.

In the event of breach of contract by you, VIANDO reserves the right to apply the following surcharges:

In the event that baggage exceeds the maximum weight allowance, a surcharge equivalent to one extra piece of baggage will be applied during each of the stages in which this occurs.

In the event that you deliver items outside of your baggage for transfer, a surcharge equivalent to one extra piece of baggage will be applied during each of the stages in which this occurs.

In the event that you present additional baggage for transport without prior notification, VIANDO will contact you to ask you to accept the surcharge corresponding to the extra baggage and, in the event of refusal or lack of response, VIANDO reserves the right not to transport the additional baggage.

4. Modification of the reservation by you

In the event of any modification to the initially planned booking, you must notify VIANDO by email at The modification must be communicated 24 hours before the start of the service. If the change occurs during the service, you must inform us immediately. Failure to do so in due time and form may result in VIANDO not carrying out the contracted service, or in the service being carried out in accordance with the initial conditions of the booking, without any refund of any amount.

5. Modification of conditions by Viando

VIANDO reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions of contract, notifying you, if applicable, 15 days prior to the effective start of the service or immediately in the event that the contract has been entered into for a shorter period of time.

6. Complaints

VIANDO accepts no liability for fragile, valuable or perishable objects or luggage, or objects stored inside in unsuitable packaging.

You have the right to claim compensation in the event of loss or serious damage to baggage and its contents (excluding baggage that does not comply with the regulations indicated in the section "Dangerous and Prohibited Goods", as well as in the previous paragraph of this section), with a fixed amount of €50 for loss and €30 for damage. Loss is understood to be the total loss of the luggage, without it being possible to recover it under any circumstances. Serious damage is understood to be any damage that makes the subsequent use of the baggage unfeasible. Other types of loss with recovery or non-serious damage, as well as loss or serious damage caused by chance, due to natural causes or force majeure, or due to the inherent defect of things, are not subject to compensation of any kind, unless the (optional) warranty extension that VIANDO makes available to you at the time of contracting the service is taken out.

Nor are loss of profit or any indirect loss arising from loss, damage, delay, misdelivery or non-delivery of baggage subject to compensation.

VIANDO reserves the right to inspect the damage you report and you undertake to make the damaged goods available until the claim has been fully resolved.

In the event of a delay in delivery of more than 12 hours attributable to VIANDO, you shall be entitled to compensation for damages, up to the limit of the price of transport for the stage during which the delay occurred.


To make a claim for any of the above reasons, you must send an email to detailing the incident within a maximum period of 24 hours from the cause of the incident. In the event of theft or loss, you must provide a copy of the report made to the competent authorities within a maximum period of 10 calendar days. In the event of serious damage, you must provide photographs that allow the damage to be assessed or, failing that, a certificate of irreparability of the luggage by a professional.

In either case, you must provide a bank account number and tax address so that VIANDO can proceed with the payment of the compensation.

7. Cancellation of the service

You may cancel the contracted service at any time, paying the management fees (which are counted as 10% of the total value of the booking), and cancellation fees, if any. Once this has been discounted, you will receive the remaining amount, as long as you communicate it by e-mail to 48 hours before the start of the service, taking 8:00 a.m. on the first day of the service as the starting time. If the notification is made between 48 and 24 hours in advance, you will be entitled to a refund of 50% of the amount paid. In the event that the notice is given less than 24 hours before the start of the event, or if the notice is not given by the means established here, you will not be entitled to any compensation.

In the event that the cancellation is made during the provision of the service, you will not be entitled to any refund of amounts paid.

VIANDO may cancel the service at any time, due to force majeure or for reasons beyond the agency's control, notifying the client immediately. In this case, you will be entitled to a full refund of the amounts paid if the cancellation occurs before the start of the service, or of the amount corresponding to the transfers not carried out if the cancellation occurs during the service, without further compensation.

8. Responsibility

As the organiser of the service, we declare that we are responsible for the organisation and execution of the service and are liable for any damages that you may suffer as a result of the non-execution or deficient execution of the contract. You must inform us of any lack of conformity noticed during the execution of the trip, without delay. The statute of limitations for actions shall be two years.

The reservation of the EQPX service implies your acceptance of the general and particular conditions.

It is your sole and exclusive responsibility to read and understand the general booking conditions before accepting them, as well as all the documentation that VIANDO provides you with for the correct performance of the service. Due to the early publication of these general conditions, additional information and/or possible modifications will be communicated to you in the specific contract for each trip.

The general conditions are governed by Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007 of 16 November, which approves the revised text of the General Law for the Defence of Consumers and Users, as well as by other complementary laws and other provisions in force.

9. Insolvency protection guarantee

In the event of insolvency, payments will be reimbursed. VIANDO has taken out an insolvency protection guarantee with the insurance company AON, S.L., with tax identification number A-28109247. If services are denied due to VIANDO's insolvency, you can contact AON at the following address:

10. Charter

The parties contracting under these general contracting conditions submit themselves to the Courts and Tribunals that correspond to their jurisdiction.

11. Data protection

In accordance with the provisions of current legislation on data protection, VIANDO informs you that your data will be processed for the purpose of managing and developing the services stipulated in this document, with the legal basis of your express consent.

For the proper management and fulfilment of the purpose of the contract, it may be necessary for your data to be communicated to suppliers such as airlines, shipping companies, hotels and other service providers. These companies will only use the data for the purpose of fulfilling the purpose of the contract.

Depending on the country of destination, these providers may be located in countries for which an international transfer of data is necessary.

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, deletion, opposition and/or limitation at any time by writing to VIANDOTREKS, S.L., Rúa do Rego, 6C, 5ºD, 15895, Milladoiro - Ames (A Coruña), accompanied by a document accrediting your identity.
